Kennet Valley Group Social Scene 294
Following on from our wonderful display of cars at Newbury, the KVG have been out and about in groups of varying numbers having fun and showing off their Triumph TRs.
Some of our members really enjoy taking part in track days, Castle Combe being a frequent destination, come and talk to the drivers if you think this is something you would like to do in your TR. This summer a small group took their cars (four TRs and one Stag) further afield by ferry to Bilbao, for a Spanish tour taking in the beautiful mountain regions. Next year there is the possibility of another trip to France, so if you are interested in going along why not come to our meetings and find out more information. Members will also be happy to give you the benefit of their experiences if you are planning a trip of your own and would like a few pointers.
CarFest South was another outing for Phil and other TR Register and KVG members. The TRs, including TS2 were the centre of a great deal of interest from the general public and some celebrities too. There was a great deal on show, besides the many cars, to interest everyone and plenty of first class musical entertainment. It is always good to know that besides having fun at events like this, we are contributing towards worthy causes.
The first weekend in October saw the KVG attending the Shalbourne Classic Car Show and after a damp and misty start, it was a beautiful sunny day. We were joined by members of the Vale of the White Horse Group and TSSC forming a good array of Triumphs. The sports field was full of a huge variety of marques and models of two, three and four-wheeled vehicles.
Our November mid-month event is a new one to KVG. It is the Classics at the Quay at Shamrock Quay Marina (SO14 5QL) and as well as the cars, there are boats and shopping for those who wish to wander from the show. We will be meeting at Tot Hill Service Station at 9:00am to leave a 9.15am. If you want to drive down with us, it would be helpful if you let us know to expect you but you are welcome to make your own way there if you prefer.
There are still a few rooms available for the KVG Christmas Party at Wroxton House Hotel so contact us asap if you would like to come along in January.
The Kennet Valley Group look forward to welcoming you to our Club Nights at The Angel, Bath Road, Woolhampton, RG7 5RT on the first Wednesday of every month. You can also visit our webpages and our Facebook group: TR Register – Kennet Valley Group & Twitter KVG Twitter
