Isle of Wight TR's members enjoy a great day out at the IOW Extravaganza
IOW TR members went along with some mainland visitors to the IOW Classic Car Extravaganza at Ryde Esplanade, a super eclectic gathering of classic marques displayed along the esplanade and visitors were treated to a superb sight.
The event has raised thousands of pounds over the past two decades and this year’s charities are the Isle of Wight Round Table and Mountbatten, the Island’s hospice.
The organisers gave the Mayor of Ryde the almost impossible challenge of selecting the prize winners of the event. His choice for Best in Show went to David & Lesley Burgoyne and their lovely Gilbern GT, Best Club display was taken by the Armstrong Siddeley Club, the American car was Richard Kerger's 1948 Chevy Fleetline.

The vehicle this Mayor most wanted to take home was the Reliant Girder fork van, The organiser thanked to all the councillors who shared their support, IOW Country Press, Island Roads and Wightlink.
Once again Vic and the crew organised a brilliant weekend and many members met up with so many lovely people. Special thanks went out to Vic Gallucci, his crew, and to Wightlink getting everyone over and back to the Island safely. Pop it in your diary for next year.
A BIG thanks to Dave Carter - IOW TRR member for the photos. Here are some more photos of the day from Dave.
