Glavon New Year Walk - 5th January 2025

This year's walk started and finished at The Old Lodge, high up on Minchinhampton Common and the weather forecast didn't look too good. Overnight snow was forecast and indeed arrived, but didn't seem to deter many folk. The promised dramatic rise in temperature brought about a rapid thaw and some rain too, with conditions underfoot being rather slippery. However the intrepid walkers carried on regardless, making a welcome half way refreshment stop at the Holy Trinity Church cafe in Amberley. The walk then continued back up onto the common and onwards to The Old Lodge where a delightful roast lunch was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Roger and Pauline for organising this excellent start to Glavon's year.
