Glavon Group "Vines on the Edge" Tulip Run - 1st September 2024

The much anticipated 'Vines on the Edge' Tulip Tour started with the sign-in at The Old Lodge Inn on Minchinhampton Common. 

The route took participants through winding Cotswolds lanes with a halfway refreshment stop near South Cerney and finishing at the Leaf and Ground Garden Centre Cafe at Dursley which has commanding views over the Severn Valley.  

There are quite a number of Vineyards in the area which many people may not be aware of and were highlighted as these were passed along the route. These included: Woodchester Valley, Winner Hill at Alderley, Kilcott Valley, Bow-in-the-Cloud near Malmesbury, Cotswold Hills and Poulton Hill at Down Ampney, Larkhill near Tetbury, Little Pinnolds, Doverte Brook and Spuncombe Bottom at Waterley Bottom and Road Green at North Nibley.

As well as following the Tulip route instructions, participants had to answer clues at various check-point locations as proof of adherence to the prescribed route which required focus and concentration which made the event great fun and rewarding.
