Bob Moss Writes; since my last report there’s not been a lot of TRing within the East Saxons group, mainly due to the time of year and the weather, but there’s been quite a bit happening on the Christmas social front, kicking off the season activities was a Christmas Nibbles night at the Cricketers pub meeting on 28th November, this was the first at our last Thursday of the month pub meeting and was well attended and a good night was had by all.

This was followed by 52 members attending our Christmas Lunch, at Weavers Restaurant, Bocking on 8th Dec, which this year replaced the normal Dinner Dance as a change and by all accounts it went down very well. Members arriving in time to get a drink and have a catch up before sitting down to the meal. The food, service and staff was first class and a big thankyou to my Judy for organising. Following the meal a couple of quizzes were handed out, one Car based and the other being Christmas based questions, all light harted, although some tables took it quite serious, but all in all it was good fun, followed by the raffle and time for further chit chat before going our separate ways.

Our regular Christmas Nibbles evening was held again this year on the first Thursday of the month evening meeting at the Farmhouse Pub, attended by a good number with a very nice spread layed on by Sylvia the landlady, a great evening with friends dressed up in Christmas attire, some even had flashing lights.

The last of our Christmas celebrations was held at the Cricketers Pub on 30th Dec where around 30 members celebrated with yet another Christmas Lunch, (We East Saxons do like to eat) organised by members Richard Crewe-Read and Amanda Leslie, many thanks for organising what was again a very nice lunch and a chance to catch up with friends and chat about what we all did over Christmas and what we are looking forward to doing this coming year.

Christmas celebration’s over and the New Year here, it will no doubt be time to get out in the garage, tinkering and fettling the cars ready for the forthcoming season.

All that’s left is to wish you all a Happy New Year of TRing.
