The evening of Wednesday 19th June in Beverley was the massive mid-Summer car show, organized by the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, in the middle of town. As usual, many of you were there with some showing your cars. We had a lovely sunny evening for it too. I bumped into quite a few of you, plus past members.
Sunday 23rd June saw 14 cars meeting up at Dunnington, on the A1079, for Malcolm & Alison Quill’s June Run. They had organized a dry day with sunny periods. We proceeded along the Vale of York, through Strensall and on to the Howardian Hills. Here we went, not only up Low Town Bank Road, but also down it. So, we passed the White Horse and the Gliding Club twice, once in each direction. We had a nice lunch at The Whitestonecliffe Inn in Sutton under Whitestonecliffe. Malcolm & Alison managed to find some roads that we hadn’t used in a long time, plus it is quite a while since we finished at The Whitestonecliffe. Well done Malcolm & Alison.
The weekend 28-30 June was Wharfedale Group’s Lakes Weekend, based at Crooklands. Phil Warkup and ourselves went over from this Group to join those nice people from Wharfedale. Our run up on the Friday was largely in sunshine, whilst the Saturday run finished at the Boat Museum in Windermere, also in beautiful sunshine.
