Our Autumn Leaves Run this year fell on 8th October with Rob & Janice Leonard the organizers. However the trees were not particularly autumnal, with many still largely green, apart from a few poplars & birch which seemed to have lost almost everything. This was before the big winds. The Leonards had provided us with good route directions plus notes on places of interest that we were passing. They took us on a route along the Wolds, with great views across the Vale of York. We had a break at the Robert Fuller Gallery in Thixendale before continuing onwards to the Fairfax Arms, Gilling, for lunch. This run was not entirely without incident as we had a minor Ash crash. After lunch we walked on down to what had been described as a model railway. These were very large live steam model locos. One of the loco drivers was interested in our cars as his friend has a TR4A for sale.
We all still get out occasionally in our TRs. But on 30th November I was surprised to see Paul Hardisty pass me in his red TR4 as I was walking through Beverley on a sunny bright day.
Tuesday 7th November was the EasTRiding Group’s AGM.
