Following on from my last report, there was something unusual that occurred at Morwellham Quay... it rained!Despite this, we had a good display of cars and it is an interesting place to visit too.

Plans were then hatched for a group to attend the IWE at Lincoln. A fair run from our county but again, we had a good attendance and the easily recognisable Devon flag and bunting was flying for all to see. We'll see what feedback appears in the magazine from the 'show within a show' approach, with Pistons in the Park, but for me, whilst an enjoyable weekend, there wasn't too much extra attendance from other clubs despite having a generous share of the site's facilities. We'll have to see how the plans develop for next year.

Straight after the IWE it was all systems go for a number of Devon Group to travel to Classic Le Mans, talking in a couple of extra days for a leisurely return trip. Photos and updates provided on our Facebook page showed excellent weather and plenty of eating and drinking as well as a few cars on the circuit too.

This unfortunately coincided with our regular attendance at the Powderham Classic Vehicle Gathering but we did manage to have up to 15 cars in attendance across the hot and sunny weekend.

With so much going on, I decided to reschedule the July lunchtime meeting to be one weekend later when most were expected to have recovered from their travels and I'm grateful to Jane and Anna for arranging this latest event to The New Inn @ Coleford, where there was plenty of catching up to do.

I've recently sent out by email the plans for the rest of this year and I've updated the page available on our Devon home page. Arrangements are now in hand to finalise each of these events and so I'd encourage you to have a look and make sure these dates are in your diaries and in all cases, please look out for the event specific invitation.

These are in addition to our regular club nights on the first Thursday and second Friday of each month, apart from our AGM which replaces our first Thursday club night on 2nd November, so please do make sure you come along to the right location for an engaging evening and the chance to have your say about our group arrangements and activities for 2019.
