Drive it Day was our first big event of the year and at least the weather was kind to us. Arranged as a joint effort by Derek, Dennis and myself, we integrated Derek's plan for a Southern Area Group get- together at Haynes Museum as well as a visit to the nearby NT Barrington Court, as well as food and refreshments at the Monkton Court Hotel en route. There was a good Devon Group attendance and we did have a very enjoyable day out. Whilst at Barrington, with permission, we arranged for a photo shoot of some of our cars in front of the main house. The attached photos show the excellent picture, captured by our expert photographer Martin Lovell, and a more candid shot showing the efforts required to do it right! Those of you who have been following the progress Charles' TR4 V8 on our TRR Devon Facebook page or in our In the Garage newsletter, will have seen that it was off for its MOT recently. All being well, both Charles and his car will have been with us at the Killerton Classic Car Show. It looks mightily impressive in the photos that we've seen so now, we should have seen it in the flesh too.
Shortly after our Killerton show we were up against the Devon & Cornwall Jaguar Enthusiasts for a skittles match. They're expecting us to win and I think they're right, so well done team, I'm sure we'll have put on a good show!
At our recent club nights, I have mentioned the recent Group Leaders meeting that I attended. This is the second that I've attended in my formal capacity and I did think it was very helpful, trying to bridge the activities involved in running the TR Register, as a limited company, but also focussing upon the demands and expectations of our car club members. A useful set of notes have been produced and are available on the TR Register website.
