You will be reading this report in the New Year and will probably be up to your fetlocks in snow by now. Contrary to my last report, Derbyshire did see out the last of the 2019 autumn with some very fine spells of good weather, but this was too late for me as I had already started my programme of winter maintenance and improvements which was too far gone for me to get my ‘6’ back on the road at short notice. In my normal manner I start such work at the back end of winter just as the daffodils make their show. Chagrin or what????
As with most TR Groups, this is the Derbyshire Dale’s quiet period with no runs scheduled, but our normal Club Nights at the Amber Hotel are well attended and are becoming even more popular. December’s meeting was soon followed by our traditional Pre-Christmas lunch, taking place once again at Santo’s Farm with a very good attendance of 37 members, wives, partners and friends, again organised by Val Bardsley-Jones and Alan Jones.
Our Derbyshire Dales TR Calendar for 2020 is now posted on our web pages. Although this would appear to be full and to have all the Sunday runs allocated, there is still plenty of scope for anyone who might wish to organise a run, to volunteer and step forward; equally, the world is your oyster when it comes to organising mid-week runs or multi-day trips, and on our web pages we have posted lists of suggested runs and scheduled events which might prompt a few ideas. Give these a look – you might just be surprised at the range of activities available! And keep looking; we are continually adding to the lists of events as and when we are made aware of them. Alan Jones updates these web pages at least monthly - often much more frequently. Any of these could form the basis of a run or trip.

Saturday 8th February: Post-Christmas Bash at the Peak Edge Hotel. Please book any rooms directly with the hotel, mentioning the TR Register who have a reserved allocation of rooms.
Sunday 15th March: Photo Shoot in conjunction with the Leicester Group
Saturday 22nd August: TR Register 50th Anniversary Celebrations at the Manifold Inn, Hulme End, in conjunction with the Leicester, Lincolnshire & Nene Valley Groups
Sunday 29th March: Pre-season Lunch at Alison House, organised by Dave Worne
