The Carding Shed, Oil Can Cafe Run, Sunday 1st September 2019
The run started at the B&Q car park in Chesterfield and proceeded via Bamford to Holmfirth on unspoilt roads with scenery unchanged from the days of classic motoring. A comfort and coffee stop on the outward journey was taken at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn, Bamford. Alan and Liz Ford left the Yorkshire Bridge early to set up a photo opportunity tor cars negotiating an uphill left hand bend in the Strines valley. Holmfirth is renown for the 'Last of the Summer Wine' TV series and now has a new venue of interest as the 'Oil Can Cafe' has now relocated in the Carding Shed of an old mill. There was something of interest for all with a vintage shop, car workshops and classic cars for sale. An very interesting private workshops tour was taken. Thanks to Peter Callender and John Browett for an extremely well organised run. Photo's by Alan Ford, Ian Walker and Alan Jones.
