Derbyshire Dales Peak Weekend, 8th - 10th June, 2018
Once again a well attended event organised by Dave Worne and Gwen Walvin with a significant amount of help from Dave Smith and Ian Walker. Saturday's run was approximately 80 miles long and set off from Alison House with a coffee stop at the Royal Oak in Hurdlow before a welcome lunch break at the Ladybower Inn, Bamford. Saturday afternoon left a choice of a walk around the scenic Ladybower reservoir, a drive over the Woodhead Pass and Snake Pass or return to Alison house in preparation for the evening's Gala Dinner. Sunday morning's run took us to the Midland Railway at Butterly where all our cars were guided into Swanwick Junction at Butterly Park which is the main museum site. From here train rides were available on the Golden Valley Light Railway and the narrow gauge. Access was available to many of the sheds where both locomotives and carriages were kept in various states of renovation.
