Cornwall Group - Events List update

Dear TR Cornwall Group Member

I am contacting you all to confirm that due to the rapidly changing Coronavirus situation all future Cornwall Group TR Register events have been cancelled or postponed until further notice. As many of you will know I had already cancelled our planned trip to Dorset in April as I was concerned about the potential risk the Coronavirus could pose to our members and families.

The TR Register chairman had contacted all Group Leaders today to advise this action which I completely support. (See below)

A message for the TR Register from the Chairman, Allan Westbury.

Dear Group Leader,

A number of you have been calling the office to ask about the most recent advice regarding the current Coronavirus situation.

We are now running a constantly updated page on the TR Register website which can be viewed here: https://www.tr-register.co.uk/article/2020/03/0222...

This page will give you the latest current advice on local groups, plus updates on national events and meets such as Drive it Day and will be updated at least daily. For example, just a moment ago, the FBHVC released a statement regarding Drive it Day, which you can also read under the Latest Updates section.

I am a member of the Leicestershire Group and we were due to have our meeting tomorrow night. Having discussed the situation between us we have decided to cancel all Group Meetings until further notice. Current advice is that you do the same with your groups.

We have an active WhatsApp group and are updating everyone through that and emails. Like the FBHVC, we are looking at the possibility of arranging small runs that involve no physical social interaction.

We have a number of ‘more mature’ members amongst us. If you know of any in your TR Register local area, why not drop them an email or give them a call to chat TRs for a while and make sure they have all they need. For those with underlying health issues, the next 12 weeks is likely to be a long and potentially lonely time, so it would be good to stress that the ‘TR Register family’ is there for them if needed. Don’t forget, the club forum is a good place to keep in touch with fellow members at this time and get our “TR fix”:

While on the subject of the office, on UK Government advice, we will be asking staff to work from home when possible. The offices at Didcot are currently closed to visitors. Please recognise that we have a small staff who may not be able to answer your calls immediately. Please do leave a message on the answer phone and they will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Keep safe.

Best wishes,

Allan Westbury, TR Register Chairman. 17th March 2020.

As a Group we have many members in the high-risk category, and I would urge us all to contact anyone in our group whom we may feel needs help and support at this uncertain time.

The TR Forums will be up and running which may be useful distraction and allow you to get your TR fix and get answers to any TR issues you may have!

What was planned for the rest of the year can be found here, but at the moment none of the events will go ahead. Hopefully things will start again before the end of the season and you will be notified by way of our Evenets Page.
