Social Scene Report 307

Hi Fellow Followers. It has been quite a busy month with our Pub meets being well supported. On 10th May a group of us attended a very interesting event at Nene Valley Railway for a tour and talk by Jim Gosney. The centre of attention was the partly dismantled massive steam train the "Tornado" which had recently failed on a trip up North on the main line. For those who understand, the middle cylinder steam valve had seized causing excessive damage and resulting in a great deal of work and expense.

Throughout June, our group was represented at various non TR Register events, namely – The Lincs 100, The Ramsey Car Show, The 20/49 Clubs Boats and Cars Night at Barrowden, and the East Elloe Classic Car Club's Annual Classic Car Run. (which attracted some 60 cars ).

On 3rd June, we had 6 cars journey to The Royal George for a Pub Meet at Barningham in Suffolk to join 30 odd Triumphs, which was organised by Dave Solomons (GL of the Wensum Group) for the East Midlands groups. The only car problem I know about was my own which had an injector fail, but fortunately I carry a spare so we were soon mobile again. It was nice to meet and chat to neighbouring groups.

At the time of writing we have 5 cars touring in France. Report in next Social Scene. Attached is a photo of our very proud Frank De'ath driving his daughter Jenny to be married at Normanton Church on Rutland Water on 12th May.
