Trumpy
Hi folks, My otherwise ‘fairly good’ mohair soft top needs new window panels fitting . They’ve done the usual hardening and become brittle. I’ve been given an estimate of £300-£350 to renew the panels including removal and refitting of the hood to the frame . A new mohair hood is £650 ! So my dilemma is should I repair or renew ? I like the originality of the old hood although it’s almost certainly not the actual original.(I believe cars came with vinyl hoods ? ) It has a couple of small repairs but still looks good and doesn’t leak . I wondered if anyone has had new window panels fitted successfully or had problems? Of course it’s spends most of the time folded up under the cover ! thanks . BlueTR3A-5EKT
The rear window used to be sold by Triumph as a spare part.
stuart
TBH unless your really set on keeping the mohair one I would be inclined to revert to Vinyl. FWIW an original TR5 hood doesnt have the zip out window and they are very hard to find now instead most supply the TR6 version with the zip out. Stuart.
