RogerH
Hi Folks Had an odd fault this morning. A friend brought his 4A around to me with a fuel leak issue. So, bonnet up, put hand under the front carb to feel if it is leaking. When I removed my hand I knocked the float chamber and it wobbled - ooer Hmmm - that's odd I thought. On close inspection the bolt that locks it in place (AUD3017) was loose. It also looked new !! It is 7/16"AF and is awkward to get a spanner on - but doable. Anyway, bolt tightened and probably the fuel leak sorted Roger

That bolt should of course be tight but it does not in itself contribute to sealing the petrol in, unless the float chamber was wobbling so much it was affecting the needle and float and the petrol was spilling out of the breather hole. Lebro
Agree, There is no fuel near that Bolt, it is purely for mounting. Bob

BlueTR3A-5EKT
Rubber sealing washer on the tube that links between jet and chambers. Yelllow line. The red line is a metal backing washer. Undo the nut, extract the tube and check the hole where 5e nut came from for the other two items listed above if they do not come out on the jet tube end.
RogerH
Thanks Pete. There was no liquid fuel when I put my hand under there yesterday. Perhaps the float chamber was rattling about too much as per Ralph's reply. Roger
