Have you got the headlining kit? Have you got the listing bars too?  Fold the lining in half to establish a centre line and mark with tailors chalk the centre and mark the centre of the roof front and rear so you can place the material in the right place. Check that you have the material the right way round as there is more material to the front end from the listing bar than to the rear from the back bar.

If you have the bars then trial fit them till you know which way round they go then slide them into the lining and with the top upside down on a soft blanket insert the bars into their respective holes and hook the front bar over the two hook shaped legs at the front. then you can tension the lining to the rear of the roof (Helps to do this in the warm and with a hot air gun to warm the material) pulling equally and then glue the rear of the lining making sure it is pulled right over the rear hump of the frame far enough so that once the rear rubber is glued on you dont see the edge of the lining material. Now got to the front and warming and pulling the material glue it over the front lip just behind the front rubber, for neatness try and make sure that you get enough material over the lip so that the front edge will be hidden by the front rubber then pulling and warming up the middle of the sides tension the material to the sides and glue it over the side lip. Once its glued all round then fit the furflex over the lip from the rear of one corner all the way round to the opposite rear corner. Then slide the side rubber seals into the channels making sure that they will butt right up to the front and rear seals, then fir front and rear seals making sure the holes in the front rubber line up with the captives in the roof, often this will require some stretching of the rubber so they do line up. FWIW always run a tap carefully into the captives and make sure you only use the correct length bolts front and rear for fixings.

This all presupposes you have a headlining kit if not you`ll need to get a trimmer to make one with the correct sleeves for the bars.

All I can add is that I was bricking it when attempting this job and with a few words with Stuart, which included ‘have  a stiff drink’ and ‘just get on with it’ it worked out very well.

TR Shop do a good kit, but there is very little excess on material, almost none.

While getting the material tensioned prior to gluing it's useful to have a selection of small bulldog style clips or chopped up small sections of the old furflex to hold the material on the metal lips.

Cheers Rob

Nah that’s for wimps just get on with it ;)

Judicious use of a heat gun makes the material go a lot further
