I am looking for some technical advice on my VW headlamps. There are no obvious cracks but there is condensation inside. I have an MoT soon and need a repair.

I have looked on Ebay and there are second hand used headlamps for about £35.00 and a new pair for £235.00. If I buy the used ones how will I know if they have the same damp issue ?

My wife has a proper new Passat but mine was passed on by my son when he upgraded. Is there any repair which I could do at home ? There must be silicon sealers available. If anyone has any advice I would be very pleased.

Thanks Richard & B

Try warming the headlamp lens with a hairdrier…gently, only needs enough to feel the warmth in the glass. It will expand the air inside and hopefully push the moisture out with it. It should get you through an MOT.
