harlequin
Bit of an odd thing today, I have a bookmark for Alex Inn on my tablet which works fine but to access other pages by using the Forums button I get an error message. I expect some changes have been made during maintenance and the Forums button was missed during the system checking George
SuzanneH
See attached, Roger and I have been getting this message from dusk till now tonight ie all day when trying to access this Forumn in our usual way. i have just managed to post this here by going in via “ All activity” or something similar. This is the first post I saw, so we are not the only ones having trouble accessing this forum…..!!! HELP. Edited November 26, 2024 by SuzanneH
RobH
If you go to the main site and click on menu>theclub>forums you still get that message so there is a broken link somewhere. Work in progress I assume. The forums were missing most of the day but my usual direct bookmark link (https://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/discover/) started to work again late this afternoon. harlequin
I suspect someone has been tinkering with the folders and muddled the links George

John Morrison
Just to confirm, forum was 'Down' all day yesterday, with Wayne and Duncan working feverishly to fix. Looks like they have succeeded - Many, Many Thanks Guys. John.
Mick Forey
The server had crashed. Wayne and Duncan rebooted it. It worked fine for a while, then crashed again. They tried a few more times with the same result. They then had to look deeper into the reason for the crash. I have not heard what the solution was but at least they fixed it for now. Many thanks to the pair of them. Mick

Mick Thanks for the more detailed explanation Mick, we all knew it was down all day but there was more to it.
Rod1883
I'd like to add my thanks to Wayne and Duncan. Not being able to access the forum is like being locked out of your favourite Pub.
Mick Forey
The issue was a lack of memory. Unlike us humans, Duncan bought more memory capacity for the server. If only..... Mick
