This is not a new issue but one that aggravates me

If I buy paracetamol in the supermarket I am only allowed to buy 2 packs of 12 tablets at a time.   If i also buy ibuprofen, 2 packs of 12,  they must go through the till as a separate sale, not with the paracetamol.

However, I am allowed to buy as many bottles of gin as I fancy.

Discuss.

I think the max pack-size for retail customers at a supermarket is 16 - two packs per transaction, so 32 tablets per transaction.

At a Pharmacy the pack-size for paracetamol increases to 32 tablets - two packs per transaction, so 64 tablets per transaction.

Retail Pack-size for Ibuprofen at a pharmacy increases to 100, although I am sure that the manufacturers actually go for 96 because it is a multiple of 8 which is the usual blister-pack size.

Of course, the anomaly with regard to purchase-quantity of other products is daft, given the number of do-gooders in the world these days don’t be surprised if your Gin-allowance per transaction changes one day!

I think if you perhaps drank a few less bottles of gin per day… then you would not need so many packets of paracetamol! … Sorted!? B)

Cause and affect?
