Removal of door chrome sill strip

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to remove the chrome sill trim on a door, before I embark and damage something in the process!

 Masking tape along the door above and below the strip then with a thin bladed screwdriver with insulating tape round the blade insert from the front and twist anti clockwise and then as soon as the first clip has popped work down the door carefully popping the clips from the top down. Why do you need to remove it?

There’s a couple of small dents on the driver’s side, and I purchased some s/h ones on eBay, which look pretty good.

Is replacing them the same (snapping them on) or do they slide on?

I thought some cars had a pin at the rear, necessitating a clip from the inside?

TR4A had that arrangement as it had the narrower strip.

They do need to clip on so fit one side to the clip and then a slap to clip on.
