The Our Future Health research study

Recommended Posts

This study was started earlier this year, and has already recruited over a million volunteers!    But five million are needed.

OFH is an NHS funded and run research project that needs all these people to volunteer their medical history and current health state.  You can read about it at:   https://ourfuturehealth.org.uk/news/our-future-health-becomes-worlds-largest-research-programme-of-its-kind/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=autumn_2024#msdynttrid=RJFJEQSO9JARYHSv_A21cUaUNTfCbF7t6TeGpvyJ2aE

I have been part of a similar study for the last 35 years . It is called ELSA and is run by the National Centre for Social Research and UCL. The study covers your health, mental faculties and your financial situation . It is basically a study of ageing and how it affects all aspects of your life. The medical tests are then made available to your GP.

I have found it fascinating especially the feedback on physical and mental status compared to the population as a whole !!

I signed up to U.K. Biobank many years ago which is a similar lifetime study.

Bump.

Bumped this one on purpose to bring to the attention of anyone who missed this first

time around, or who is still undecided, and cause today I did the appointment.

Dead easy and quite fulfilling, and it turns out I'm fitter than I look -

just as well,

I hear the cry.

John.
