Neilson
Hi all, I wondered if anyone can shed some light on how this rear retaining bar fits into the back of my new Surrey soft top. I was guessing it went inside the leatherette channel and you made 2 holes where they should align to the top of the Surrey backlight, but it’s rather tight to push this through. cheers Neil
Tim T
Neil, The Surrey top that I bought from CHT came with the 2 holes and slit through which to push the retaining bar. It certainly is a tight push but does work. Cheers, Tim

Cheers, Tim Thanks Tim, I definitely don’t have the 2 holes on mine and it doesn’t want to push through, especially as the 2 threaded studs seem wider than the channel. Hoping someone else might be able to shed some light Neil

It is a “Snug” fit but still should slide in ok and the holes for the studs should also have been punched. Stuart.

It seems you have to make a snip in the underside mohair channel then feed your retaining rod through, and then you need to make the holes through the mohair and rubber seal. I’ve managed to get this far, and they also left the front of the hood unfinished and added a faint chalk line for the TR6 header.
