Top trim mouldings

Hi All.

Regarding the top trims on the front and rear wings, because these trims must be susceptible to water ingress, would you recommend clear sealant wiped into either side of the trims.

Thanks again.

Garry

You should fit the wings using non setting screen sealant, loose bolt the wing up and then add the strip pulling it down into place as you tighten the wing, this usually results in some sealant coming up under the strip anyway, once all bolted in place and strips pulled down tight and the tabs bent over then wipe of the excess sealant that has bled out with some spirit wipe job done. The strips are stainless so no need to worry about them. You could give the tabs a little zinc spray before fitting if you want too.

Unfortunately the panels where fitted with seam sealer but the two surfaces don't touch perfectly by the odd mm so wanted to avoid any water standing where there maybe movement in the future.

Thanks Stuart.

They are pushed to the highest point which in places leaves 1-2mm gaps. Could leave it as it is decorative.

Without seeing It Im not sure what to suggest, perhaps just brush Waxoyl along either side enough to go into the gaps and then wipe off the excess.

Stuart.
