Matthew Birch
Hi. I'm rebuilding a '66 4a and have fitted (for the second time) 'lowered' and uprated coils all round, but the car is clearly sitting too high all round. The first set were either; too stiff/too long/actually meant for a TR6 but sold as TR4a items. The second set from a different supplier don't seem a lot better. Any suggestions/recommendations on getting suitable coils? Thank you, Matthew
Richard Crawley
Matthew My advice is stick to the standard springs; they are perfectly good for a road car & will still leave your fillings intact!
ChrisR-4A
Hi Matthew, my 4A has the Moss slightly uprated and lowered springs all round, (no spacers req). They are a bit thicker than standard and about 1inch lower, I have the part numbers at home if you need them. I will email a photo. Chris
Matthew Birch
Chris Thanks, a part number would be good - I'll dig up the part numbers I used before and cross-check. As it happens, I recently shipped the car to join me in North Carolina and am thinking perhaps standards springs (as Richard suggested) would be more suitable for the roads here. Thanks again, Matthew
