Cam followers

Hello. This is my first posting as a new member (2 weeks) Can any one advise me on how to get a cam follower out.I have removed head,rad.and distributor/metering pump etc.The cam follower in No6 Pot will not come out I think the end has mushroomed. If I pull out shaft can the follower be knocked out into sump? Hope some one Has any info.Thank's

A rawl bolt often does the trick

Try the rawlbolt again-i used a small one with a longer bolt through it, I think the problem is probably carbon build up above the wear line.

:( I was hoping the followers protrude past the bore at full lift; else a high-lift cam ( like the one I intend to fit ) might hit a ridge where the std lift excursion ends.... :huh:

I would have thought that the offer of free beer would be quite successful in getting most Camb Followers out. lol:

 

Well I found it funny... and if free beer doesnt do it perhaps a toilet plunger on the top of the head ?
