If the belt is slightly smaller than 20 mm it runs deep in the pulleys and is "too long".

I have s second Flennor 20X900 al a spare part, slightly wider than 20 mm, this runs higher in the pulleys - this is "shorter".

A cogged Flennor 20X900 occasionally appers on eBay, a cogged "17" Gates is easy to get and works too (must be shorter)

This is the style in 17mm  BX , which is a standard form - not just Gates. They are available in half-inch increments of internal length from 23 inches upwards.  e.g. BX32.5 is 32.5 inches inside length / 895mm outside length.

If the belt is too tight I undo the rear generator mounting bolt and loosen the front two. I manoeuvre the generator to get the belt over the pulley and replace the rear mounting bolt and tighten the front two. Problem solved.
