nigelcurry
Hi all what size drill bit would I need to drill out the rivets holding the sill trim on my 1972 cp thanks nige
BlueTR3A-5EKT
My guess is that the original rivet is 1/8”. Or 3.2mm in foreign. So a 3 mm would do as a good starter if worried start at 2.5 mm or 3/32”. Roger will step in here with the number drill size. #31 or #32 I think. Perhaps just using a 1/8” drill to take the top or head of the rivet off that is visible then punch through the remaining stem That way you do not drill the sill panel hole any bigger Peter W Edited June 20, 2022 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
Waldi
Nige, 3.0 mm should be fine. Waldi
RogerH
Hi Pete, option 2 sounds good 1/8 to take the head off. No'30 drill is often used for 1/8" rivets. Allows easy insertion and then a little room to expand to make a perfect fit. Roger
