Fuel gauge electrical help needed please

Recommended Posts

On my TR6 suddenly my fuel gauge has stopped registering, there is half a tank of fuel

I have checked the supply from voltage regulator to gauge ( light green cable) and have 12 volts, also on to temp gauge same circuit.

there is 12v from the gauge to tank sender, measured at gauge and at tank sender.

Then 12 v on to and of the sender.

My thoughts are the sender unit is not functioning ?

Is the operation that the lower the fuel level the higher the resistance ?

Anyone have any ideas please ?

Thank you

Moving to the tank

Ok all sorted.

I had removed the boot linings and inadvertently dis-connected the earth from sender to chassis at the bullet connection...........
