Richardtr3a
I am fitting the new Speedi Sleeve to my half shaft on the Girling back axle. My scaffold tube is not a good fit so I am going to use some Copaslip. is this a mistake ? Richard & B
Drewmotty
Im not too familiar with Speedi Sleeves but a bit of heat from a heat gun (not a naked flame) normally makes a big difference to any close fitting round bits.

As for heat, I would be a bit leery of that too, since the sleeves seem to be made from a particularly resistant steel alloy - very hard - and I would fear that heating might alter - and distort - things. But my little knowledge of metallurgy disappeared 50 years ago! james
BlueTR3A-5EKT
I have never needed heat to get the sleeve on. Light wipe of oil does OK for me. Be sure to mark where you want the sleeve pushed onto and get an assistant to shout when you get to it, as you cannot see from the hammering end. Have your local tractor/agricultural engineers/garage got a washer big enough and a better fit for the speedi-sleeve external diameter that will support the end of the scaffold tube? Have you got a plumbing box spanner big enough to support the speedi-sleeve and the scaffold tube? This sort of thing.
