At 2.20am on the 15th April 1912 the TITANIC sank beneath the waves. More than 1500 souls were lost.

Almost exactly 110 years later the Russians lost their Black Sea flagship (hoping no lives were lost, although it's unclear). Still kind of waiting for the Kremlin to blame an iceberg.

I think they said on the news that they lost apprx 400.  Possibly self inflicted.

(Instead, her older sister "Olympic").
