David wright Posted April 12, 2022 Report Share Posted April 12, 2022 Hi everybody I have a triumph tr4 Iam leaking oil from the push rod tubes when running, any ideas if you can buy seals or will I need to by the set of new tubes I usually deal with rimmer bros . RogerH Posted April 13, 2022 Report Share Posted April 13, 2022 Hi David, the tubes are a simple and cheap design to keep most of the oil in the engine. Both ends of the tube are exposed to oil and capillary action draws the oil through. Unless you have a fountain of oil then simply clean the area regularly. If ever you have the head off you could consider squeezing the ends of the tubes between two big ball bearing. BUT unless they are removed you can't get any sealant in there. TRy to live with it.
