Injector types

Am I correct in thinking that early cars TR5’s and early TR6’s had screw in injectors and latter cars had push in ?

Screw and push refers to the way the plastic insulator fits to the injector body.

They are all fitted into the manifold by an 'O' ring on the nylon insulator, the injectors and retained in the manifolds in pairs by steel retainers each held by a screw.

I cant find any reference to these. Does this mean there are no retaining plates?

That just refers to the surrounding insulator, they still have retainer plates.

The three PI cars ive worked on all had a mix-n-match set of injectors!

Neil Ferguson supplied matched sets of push in refurbished injectors and additional plastic holders to complete the sets.

it’s 9 years since these were fitted to my ‘6 and it’s still running great, if a bit leaky now in the oil department !
