Tr6 original new price

Scan from the price list of 17th February 1969 follows. By October 1969 the soft top had gone up slightly to £1366 11s 11d and hard top to £1412 5s 16d. The optional extra prices all remaining the same.

The purchase tax rate is about 30%! A lot more money to be made taxing cars than making cars in those days.

In 1974 I was living on the south coast of New South Wales and bought a new Toyota Celica for $3,800, including optional mag wheels.

My recollection is that at the time a new TR6 from the local Leyland dealer was in the order of $8,000.
