Hi, I've been restoring an ex US TR6 for the past 4 years. Unfortunately, I've been waiting for well over a year for a carb choke cable from Rimmer's who no double have supply issues.  Has anyone else have the same problem or a solution.

Moss show stock of a single  https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/choke-cable-pictorial-type-knob-214672.html and the double available to order https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/choke-cable-written-type-knob-218301.html only very late one from CF12501 shows as out of stock.

The one for the post 72 carbs was a solid single wire inner and there was no return spring on the fast idle cam

The pre 73 cables were multi stranded wire inner cable and because there was a return spring, the cable knob had a twist to lock feature.

You can use either one if you know what modifications to make...

Thanks Stuart, I've also taken your advice and obtained a Heritage certificate which confirms the car is a matching numbers 1975 vehicle. Hopefully this will help with my request for a re-issue of the Nova certificate which states the car is a 1971 model.

David - I easily got a solid wire one on ebay, I think its a standard part used in several Triumphs and Landrovers etc. You need to make sure its long enough .

Would the original have had a removable knob? I'm guessing all these are moulded on (like the standard fitment in Spitfires etc.) does anyone know?

Cheers, Richard

Yes originally detachable knobs.

Symbol on the UK and European models.  ‘CHOKE’ on US models ie carb.

The one I've got is moulded on.
