sperry14
Hope you can advise.... so this morning jacked front of car up both frt wheels removed.... to grease everything ... i was expecting the steering to be very easy to turn... whilst it wasn’t difficult ist seems more stiff than I would expect .... read somewhere that as the suspension is fully un loaded, the steering to track rods make it slightly more difficult... everything looks fine otherwise...... peejay4A
Iirc it’s a known issue that the top ball joints begin to bind up at full suspension droop.
John Morrison
Worth cracking the track rod ends to ensure you do not have an issue on either side. Know of a top ball joint seizing with less than 500 mls. John.

It's a mistake to expect swivelling parts on steering to work easily at full extension, the arms will hardly ever extend that much (and then only momentarily under normal running and compliance of the suspension in use.
