What do you carry when out on a drive?

Recommended Posts

Can of petrol, lighter and the phone number of the insurance company.

I hope I never get that angry with my car to do that!

I've been tempted to mimic this though......

Regards

This is what I had in my boot when I cleaned it out a rationalised stuff before the RBRR. I had accumulated a lot if stuff. Mostly packed around the spare wheel. I was really pleased I pack a spare accelerator cable pm the 2018 event as it snapped <20 miles from the end.

What! No Fire Extinguisher!!!

A suggestion made to me was when carrying out maintenance - repairs at home only use what you have in the boot. If it's not in the boot, put it in for next time.

This may lead to a tow bar being fitted and a trailer ! But it seems like a good practise.

When the car was in PI I always had a spare red coupler (between the pedestal and MU) and injector. The latter saved me on a number of occasions.
cheers

I've never had a fuel injection problem. Coils, rotor buttons, condensors and a few other things, but never injection.

I recognise the poor reliability of the Lucas pump, but why not fit a modern one and have done with it?   And an entire Metering unit?   Get it properly rebuilt! Have you, or anyone else ever had all six injectors fail, at once? You only expect two of your spark plugs to need replacimg on the road side!

There appears to be a bag of condensor-starters for fluorescent tubes in the bottom right corner - do you have a novel mod for headlights to tell us about?

John

Thanks guys.... I'm in the middle of nowhere in very rustic Spain and spares suppliers for TR's are far more difficult to get than in the UK. Mobile signal is also very vague.
Some of your ideas will be implemented.

Not dissimilar to Australia. You're on your own a lot of the time so need to be able to address the common, and some not so common, issues.
