plenum drain modification

Recommended Posts

I am  just commencing rebuilding the tub of my TR250 and   whilst I am not aware of any rust damage to the plenum chamber  I have been interested by the various discussions regarding the drains pipes protruding up into the chamber itself such that there is always some residual water left in there to aid future rotting.

Would it be sensible to cut the existing drain pipes out and "glue" a plate with flush drain pipe welded to it over the hole ? I have already fitted all the heater and under dash stuff and do not relish having to undo and redo this work to facilitate in situ welding!

Any ideas welcome

Thanks

Mike

Been thinking about this, is it really worth doing the drain tube mod when water trickles in from the hole between the wing shut where it meets the bulkhead/wiper panel corner ??

This deals with that problem.
