RobH Posted October 7, 2021 Report Share Posted October 7, 2021 You would see a small charge current which drops off much more rapidly than normal and/or which may stay at a low level longer than normal instead of dropping completely to zero, so it assumes you know what is normal and whether you are in the habit of watching the meter closely. I admit not many owners will do that. Most dynamos and alternators are 'machine sensing' so push out the set voltage regardless of the battery, so the result would be the same with either.
