jerrytr5
What happens when it rains and the fuel filler well on a TR7 fills with water? I don't see any drain point. Seems to be a semi-circle in the flange but this is sealed. Where should it drain from? Jerry
TR8IAN
Typically Triumph the drain is around the outside of the filler pipe- sadly as yours has they fill up with detritus. If you undo the three large crosshead screws (The nuts on the other side should be welded in place) you can pull out the plastic surround and clean around the pipe. Hope this helps. jerrytr5
Wouldn't that take it into the boot? I'll have a look tomorrow. Thanks. Jerry
DaveR
No the drain/filler pipe is outside of the boot and is located in the box at the top right of the boot. Dave
BusheyTrader
Replacement plastic surrounds for DHC’s are very expensive so best to be careful. I replaced my tank about 7 years ago. There was zero corrosion behind the plastic surround or where the rainwater drained away over the tank. The tank rusted from the inside out on its bottom leading edge. A cobweb had more integrity.
