David.B
Hi Guys & Girls, Just wondering if there is anyone in the Guildford area that could come to me and help me set up my cars timing. For some reason my distributor has come loose and moved. Not running smoothly and back firing I can get it running by guess work, but it is not happy. I need someone who has a timing light and knows where it needs to be set. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, David

David.B
I would like to register my gratitude and thanks to Steve Derbyshire for his offer of help with my car. He very successfully re timed my car and fixed a faulty distributor bracket for me. Despite doing this, there was still a running issue with the car. First job was to check spark plugs. No change to engine performance. 2nd job was to check injectors. One found to be totally blocked and a second was partially blocked. After cleaning and bleeding the two faulty injectors, the car now runs perfect. We agreed a refurbished set of injectors are required. Once I have them in my possession he has kindly offered to come back and help me fit them. What a true gentleman Steve is, to give up his time and knowledge to help another TR Register member. Many thanks Steve Regards, David Edited September 29, 2021 by David.B

Many thanks Steve Regards, David I would be concerned that if one injector was totally blocked and the other partially blocked, if it was bits of rubber? that the non return valves on the M/U for that fuel line are breaking up and re-con injectors will not cure that fault? David It was my pleasure David! we are planning a Spanish Evening this weekend so will try the wine then Bruce has a valid point at the mu seals, especially on 2 and 5, often cause problems and it was 5 that was the worst culprit. IF problems recur, and as i said my cas has run perfectly for 8 years now, then we’ll have to tale the MU off to get at the banjos for 2 and 5, more fun ! look forward to catching up again soon, perhaps for the Classic show steve
