TR7 Carbs Rubber Mounts

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

There is a reason they are rubber.

The idea is to an extent isolate the carbs from the engine vibration which can cause the float chambers to vibrate to the extent that they flood.  The exact rev range depends on the specific engine set up but tends to be North of 5000 rpm and settles beyond this so may not be noticed when wizzing up in lower gears. Predominantly affects 4 pot engines.

Webers use O rings, presumably for the same reason.

Hi all, this link comes from the german side https://tr7ig.de .

If You browse starting from that page " Das Fahrzeug", "Werkstatt" and than "Vergaserhalterungen" , You will find the hole page about the mounts. They sell to everybody. Hope it helps

I guess a fraction late, but having replaced the original with the ones on the right, these fell apart within a few hundred miles, requiring superglue assistance as temporary fix

A more permanent solution needed a Devon group member made those on left in case anyone is interested

Rubber and paper gasket extra,
