Prefect
En route to Goodwood my left rear wheel became detached. The retaining nut had unscrewed from the driveshaft and was collected in the cap in the centre of my alloy wheel . We missed a very nasty accident. How can this nut unscrew itself??? stuart
Only if it wasnt torqued up properly as it should be Nylock. Though depends on what drive shafts you have fitted? Stuart.

Thankfully the wheel did not fall off. I had a spare hub unit in the boot so we did a quick swap and back on the tour. I have been banging on for ages about refurbished hubs being a no no. Z320
Nut unscrewed, or threaded bolt broken of, or axle shaft broken off? Any play in the wheel bearing checked before, alway good with old axles. When I noticed play in one both went in the scrap and I bought new Goodparts axles.
