DavidBee
I though this might be worth a look. Car's got 78 miles on the clock, but body looks pretty bad. https://barnfinds.com/pre-production-1980-triumph-tr8-convertible/?utm_campaign=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Newsletter+(Daily)

RogerH
It may not be worth it in financial terms but the satisfaction of bringing it back to life must be worth a punt for somebody with time on their hands. Roger
cvtrian
Wasn't TS2 acquired by the club in a dilapidated state, in need of a full restoration, and what an investment for the TR Register that has proved to be (and continues to be) Yes it would cost money, but what a way to book end the TR range in the club, the second hand built TR made and the second last hand built TR8.................. BlueTR3A-5EKT
options…. Buy it and rebuild it - you would need to keep it in a museum to maintain your idea of its value. Use it and its usp and value go out the window. Leave it as is and you can keep reselling it to mugs/speculators. TR Register buy, repair and use - that makes serous sense. Let’s face it, Triumph never included a plinth in the parts book for vehicle display purposes. Peter W

tr graham
Stuart no I did not!! I looked at it ,thought about it , bid on it ! but nearly every seam was leaking rust , so it will need a complete strip down , and disassembling that type of shell will take hours and hours , I am sure somebody will save it but deep pockets and access to unique parts will be required . graham
stuart
Yep such a shame that it was let go so far before being sold. Stuart.
AndyR100
The gentleman who purchased has posted on another platform - it is heading to Kent where he will undertake a full restoration ‘in the fullness of time’ ......... Andy
Andy Moltu
As Stuart says it is a shame it has been allowed to rot. It's so bad it wouldn't make much of a museum piece before it turns into a pile of rust. A big restoration job. Preservation of originality really becomes irrelevant and impossible at this level of rot!
