As said above FatJon,  Goodparts stuff is excellent, I've never heard any negative reports on his parts. No connection, I'm just a very satisfied customer.

What are you planning to do to your new engine, which choice of camshaft etc?

Richard.

Not planning anything too extreme. I'm thinking Newman fast road cam, forged rods and pistons and a few aftermarket bits like aluminium end plates and sump and the steel block behind the timing cover so I can tighten it up without stripping threads. Looking for a good tuner to do me a head.

“Looking for a good tuner to do me a head.“

An excellent head development engineer is Peter Burgess who has done all my racing heads both on 4 cylinder from 1987 onwards and the V8 racers for me. He’s done many heads for TR Register members purely for road use and also many TR specialists use his head work which they retail on to customers.

Peter Burgess Automotive Performance Engineering…He has a state of the art rolling road so you can use his expertise to maximise the head work he’s just done for you. He’s at J28 on the M1 where the A38 crosses it 1 mile off it in Alfreton Derbyshire.

If too far to travel he has accepted heads by post and will post back. No connection with him, it’s easy recommending outstanding work and reasonable pricing.

That’s nice to know he has done the head for my new four pot .

Oh yes, Hamish. I was wondering about that. How is this new engine? Powermax con rods and all the rest? What's it like on the road? Have you married it up with the Webers yet?

Ciao,

David

Exciting. I know you will have the best advice on the Webers, but still, if you get a chance, read the book, you know the one I mean, John Passini, I think.
