AEDW
Please could you recommend a reasonably priced engine oil for my TR6?. Many thanks Adam
RobH
Welcome to the forum Adam. If you use the search box for 'engine oil' you will find several pages of discussion. This is a regular topic and there are as many different answers as there are oils available. See the example below (click on the title to open it). Price is probably not the best criterion. The main thing is to use oil which has sufficient ZDDP ( zinc ) which is essential for the flat tappets in TRs. Most modern oils do not contain enough and it is recommended to use one specifically intended for older styles of engine.

Nigel Triumph
Halfords classic 20W50 or the equivalent from Millers here, whichever is easier to get hold of and cheaper when needed. Nigel

AndyR100
Great to see that others have cottoned onto Classic oils Heritage mineral 20/50 - super spec for our cars at a sensible price. The only downside of buying 25lrs is the space it takes up inthe garage ....... Andy
