Good news, Peter!

Both our previous two cats chose us.

Windsor, was chased from next door by their black cat, and devcided he liked us better.

Mort (Not 'Mortimer' this one was the DEATH OF RABBITS) just walked in one day.  He had a collar, with an address, we took him back, but he returned in less than 24 hours.  His owners were students who were vegetarians and thought that cats could be too.

We chose the next two, after Windsor died and Mort just disappeared.

But Lionel and Lucy didn't really get along together, cats don't unless they are litter mates or are put togther at less than seven weeks old, nor did they approve of Diana, who next appeared, but she was adopted by our neighbours.

Diana the Huntress, sought out rats and brought them home, dead or alive!  But she had a thyroid problem and died too, as did Lionel on an expedition.

You can't keep cats for long!

Twinkle arrived as a stray 10 years ago just as the resident cat was dying. She was surviving on a diet of pheasant liver etc. She can kill an adult pheasant with great skill, and smaller  rats and squirrels, even a weasel. A feline killer, as befits her plumage. But her disappearances might be a sign of dementia and loss of sense of direction. Peter
