nigelcurry Posted June 13, 2021 Report Share Posted June 13, 2021 Hi all i have just put an original steering wheel on my 72 cp I fitted a new carbon brush and assembly was straightforward but I have developed a squeak each time the wheel is turned a bit like rubbing polystyrene tiles together EEEK??.Should I have lubricated the brush some how . any thoughts please guys nige Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Waldi Posted June 29, 2022 Report Share Posted June 29, 2022 I had the same squeel in my steering column, thought it was caused by the bearing bushes as others have reported but lubrication made no difference. It appeared to be the (original) steering wheel hub contacting the outer column and just a tiny bit of WD-40 solved it. No need to dismantle anything at all.
