We are planning on moving house and I need to sell my TR4.  I am not sure the best way to do this as I do not know a realistic valuation for it.  Could anyone please offer me any advice on how best to go about selling it.  Classified ad, Facebook, eBay, autotrader, specialist site?

I have a 1962 TR4. Good condition, runs well.  Engine fully rebuilt a few years ago, dark green, wire wheels, chassis CT7732  and I have the original 1962 log books/paperwork.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks  Alastair Cragg

Ive used ‘www.themarket.com’ online auction a few times and find it a good experience. 5% commission, sensible valuation for reserve and good coverage for a good price. They do a concierge service too.

To add to the sensible advice you have already received, if you have limited idea of value and would like assistance with the sale you could consider someone like TRGB to help with a commission sale or someone like Mark O’Malley of Classic Marks who may purchase from you directly - both advertise in the Club magazine or can be found via a quick search.

good luck with your sale

Correction here   The link is to a New Zealand sales site.  You need the UK site

https://themarket.co.uk/

Ebay is a laboratory for sellers to figure out what they can get for their goods, that's why Ebay is mostly expensive. Just use that platform to get an idea of what the global market is ready to fork out. Then fine tune the price for selling.
