Having a ‘72 TR6 carb version, I just found out I have a hole in my Monza exhaust (left side)

Trying to find a replacement one, I checked the exhaust manifold to see what type I should connect.

Is anybody able to identify which one it is? I was thinking about the Phoenix, 6 pipes leading to 1. But the arms don’t look like a Phoenix one.

Living in Belgium, so I guess my offer is limited to the suppliers Angloparts, Moss, Limora, Bastuck if I don’t want to pay a lot of import taxes (bad experiences on that one <_<)

Preferably, I would like to keep the exhaust manifold and replace everything after. Monza exhaust is not a requirement and seems to be difficult to find here too. And not sure it exists in a rustfree version.

Any advice on which one to pick? It seems Moss has the Phoenix exhaust and some “homemade” alternatives, matching their exhaust manifolds (sport, road,...). But I’m not sure they will fit my exhaust manifold.

Phoenix can make you an adapter to fit your manifold then your choice of what you fit after.

Regards Harry

Best to deal with Phoenix directly, they are very helpful and much cheaper going direct.

And what are the experiences with Phoenix? Decibel and performance wise?

Also, they offer a single “big bore” type but also a cross box, feeded by a single or twin pipe. What should I consider when picking one of these options?

BP Northwest offer Monza.  https://www.bpnorthwest.com/triumph/tr250-tr6/exhaust/monza-exhaust-header-triumph-tr250-tr6.html

Exhaust system   https://www.bpnorthwest.com/monza-exhaust-system-triumph-tr6-72-to-76.html

If the manifold is UK made it will be compromised as the rhd steering shaft gets in its way.   Lhd cars have bags of room for the primary pipes to wend their way through as there is no steering in the way.

It seems I do have the Monza exhaust manifold. Would that be compatible with another exhaust?

As mentionned before, not willing to order in the US. Last time I had to pay 40% plus on taxes...

I've got the standard cross box style with 2 inlet pipes. This is slightly noisier than the standard exhaust. You can also get the straight through single bore exhaust but this is quite loud!

Not sure that's entirely true, I've got the Phoenix manifold and that easily clears the steering column and I believe this design is very effective. Looks very similar to the Monza one tbh.

The only fitting issue is that its very close to the starter.

Surely you'll have the same problem with the UK now? Maybe you could drive over and get it fitted then drive back avoiding any duties.:D

Maybe Bastuck is the way to go.   I think their stainless exhausts and manifolds were UK made at some point.   All you have to do is work your way through their clunky catalogue.
There are plenty of other EU sellers out there.

It seems they don’t have a exhaust that fits my 6-1 manifold. I already have their catalog ^_^
But will check for other adresses.

Here you go Washi

I have a stainless 6-3-1  race manifold with a TUV approved single silencer which is fairly muted for long distance runs which I prefer all by Pheonix and a good company to deal with. They will sort you out.
